Belfast Ice Hockey Player 'Scores' by the Seat of His Pants

Storyful Studio
An ice hockey player became an overnight internet sensation thanks to an amazing “no-goal” he scored during a game at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 6.Belfast Giants winger and former NHL player Patrick Dwyer got the puck past the goalkeeper in a rather unusual way during his team’s clash with Milton Keynes Lightning.Footage shared to Twitter by the team’s account shows a puck shot by Dwyer’s linemate Darcy Murphy which hits Dwyer and becomes lodged in his pants. Dwyer then decides to back himself into the net in order to score, rather than removing the puck from his uniform.Unfortunately for the NHL veteran, the goal was disallowed by referees, but the footage of the shot has over 120,000 views at the time of writing.
